I agree... And I think it'll be weight related... Along the lines of Chavez not being able to make the weight.

        See, I told you so.

JR was never the one ducking this fight. They've had an offer to Sergio's people for a long time.

The fact that Sergio is finally accepting shows he's ready to cash out on his pathetic failure of a career.

got to start some where. It's the biggest fight Sergio can get this year money wise, why not go for it?

Besides the fact he was promised this fight how many times now?

If Martinez beats Chavez jnr you know what that means? It means Floyd vs Martinez for the wbc middleweight champion belt.Floyd already said he`s willing to test the waters at 160 one day.

if Chavez fights Murray he'll never face Martinez.

what will happen is, is that Chavez will once again have problems making 160 and gain 20lbs + again. he'll eek out a controversial split decision against Murray and then Arum will say that Chavez needs to move up to 168, thus vacating the title.

if the WBC doesn't allow Chavez to face another fighter he'll probably move up to 168 if Martinez wins. if Martinez has a tough going against Macklin Chavez may find the courage to face him but if Martinez demolishes Macklin Chavez will be moving up to 168 in a week.

Chavez is a coward and Arum will never let one of his hoes get smacked down by anyone execpt one by one of the Top Rank hoes

Its got nothing to do with wanting his belt back. Its about it being the easiest fight for the most money.

If Chavez moves up to 168 you can bet your bottom dollar that the WBC is gonna look for an excuse to strip Ward of the WBC belt then allow Chavez to fight a bum for the wbc vacant title. Then Chavez would be 2 division champ then defend it against bums, then Chavez will move up to light heavyweight and the cycle will repeat itself, then Cruiserwieght then the cycle will repeat itself, then maybe even heavywieght and the cycle will repeat itself.

Chavez fighting Martinez in December is about as convincing as the "Pac-May wont happen now, but it will in November" nonsense.
                    Couldn't put it any better.

When are people going to realise that, with the exception of Mayweather and De La Hoya, no fighters have a say in who they face. The average fighter saying "yeah I'm going to fight this guy" has no more bearing than a fan's speculation. At the end of the day 99% of fighters will fight whoever they're told to fight, it's the promoters decision that counts.

As long as they sing a contract agreeing to fight Martinez in September, should be fine if they fight Murray. I actually really like the Chavez vs Murray matchup. Should be a fun fight.

                      Obviously not a boxing fan.
We get it! You're better us! You're the only real boxing fan among us because you think Pirog is the only relevant middleweight besides Martinez. Nevermind that Macklin is considered a top 3-5 middleweight. Only Pirog exists. Everyone else is trash.
