Ortiz would have won that fight!
How awesome would the Mayweather Ortiz fight have been?

I would like for anybody to really explain to me how the fight was close up to that point? What had or was Ortiz doing? His left eye was purple and closing and that was just in the 4th round. Please anybody tell what was he really gonna do? Cause we all know from round 4 on PBF usually pitches a shutout and Ortiz had done nothing in that fight to prove it was gonna be anything different.
To say that fight was close and heating up is just BS!Comment

how i wish floyd had the confidence and the balls of all his supporters. That made no sense whatsoever as Floyd rarely gets hit, that in itself shows true superiority....
Being able to hit and not get hit....
Pac does not really box... its as simple as a 35 cent soda .....
There is a reason PAC WILL NOT BE THE FAVORED AGAINST FLOYD. There is a reason Floyd is 42-0.... HE HAS ALL THE TOOLS AT HIS DISPOSAL.
Carjacks (SHOULDER ROLL/UPPERCUT, LOOK AT CASTILLO II FIGHT), phillips screw driver (THROWING MEAN ASS SHOTS THAT HURT, DONT LET NO ONE FOOL YOU FLOYD HAS POWER, OR PEOPLE WOULD JUST BULLY HIM), hammer (THAT X2 PIECE HE HIT ORTIZ WITH), vice grip (WALK YOU DOWN AND PRESS THE ATTACK). etc. Floyd has it all.
Floyd attacks every part of the body, ribs, pit of the stomach, face etc.
If you were to ask any fighter whos skill set they would rather have, they would all tell you FLOYD... Only PAC fans would say PAC....Comment

Fight wasnt even close...Ortiz did some things in the second round...AFTER running fir the first half of the round while Floyd walked him down...in the 3rd round, Ortiz ran, and got hit with hard shots when he stood still so he had no choice but to run...in the 4th round, Floyd stopped boxing, and started beating the crap out of him...throwing all sorts of combinations, haymaker lefthooks which he rarely throws, and Ortiz STILL ran in the last round...Ortiz didnt even land punches when he threw his flurries....in fact, in that gif, Ortiz had to trample over Floyd's feet, INTENTIONALLY, so he could catch Floyd...He couldnt even hit him while standing on the guy's feet keeping him from moving...and Floyd STILL got away...Floyd said if the fight went on, he was about to start throwing all sorts of combinations, and I heard reports Of Floyd throwing combinations in sparring, Floyd getting stronger and stopping his sparring partners...Nate Jones gave great feedback on an interview on another site....Floyd was about to TKO Victor in the 5th or 6th rnd...He was FAAAR too aggressive, and Ortiz couldnt land anything in the pocket so he kept trying to run...what fight did u see?...Ohhh U was watching the Mosley fight....Ortiz is Mexican, not BlackComment

FLoyd fans will say Ortiz didn't land anything even though it's right there to see. He landed a harder punch earlier in the rd.
Floyd fans will say that Floyd would have picked it up and stopped him late.
Oh them Floyd fans....
Floyd was winning, but the 1,2, and 4th rds were all pretty close.
Im not going to get into the bs punchstats by compubox, but the video of the 4th rd has been gone through and Floyd hardly landed any of the punches all these Floyd fans rave about.. It's kind funny.Last edited by Neglect; 03-15-2012, 01:24 PM.Comment

I really can't understand how people believe that Ortiz was going to win. Ortiz landed like, 2 punches in that gif and I don't even consider those punches effective or doing any damage considering Floyd was able to block the rest of the punches. When fighters get hit good and clean, they shouldn't be able to block so effectively like that. When Floyd gets hit clean, than the first thing he would have done is clinch. And trust me, the frustration that was clearly being shown in Ortiz would only have been going in Floyd's favor. On top of that, Ortiz's face was swelling pretty bad. If the fight continued, are you guys telling me that Ortiz would have beaten Floyd with a depleted stamina and a swollen eye? Because scientifically, that wouldn't make sense. Sure there's punchers chance, but that goes for ANY and every fighter.
And let's just say that Floyd's punches weren't doing any damage on Ortiz (despite the swell, we'll just say it just to give Ortiz an edge). Floyd was never about being that one punch hard hitter. He was always about breaking his opponent down first, then the KO will come later. So in another words, everything was going according to Floyd's plan.Comment

Floyd was closing his eye with the right hand, landing it at will and was dominating the fight.
Ortiz had no chance in beating Floyd, he was outmatched in a way he has never been.Comment
