Yawn... I'd much rather see Rios fight Alvarado instead of Abril.

I don't see Abril having the power to stop, hurt, or even get Rios's respect in order to keep his pressure minimized in the least bit.

After the stunt abril put on at the no show gamboa press conference, Rios probably has a little beef to settle with him. abril won't be able to run and hid in the ring come April 14th.

I'll not be shocked if he win a dec. he has some skill and is pretty big for a LW, good chin too and took Acosta to school putting him dow 3 times on route to a wide UD, the same Acosta that gave rios alot of trouble, still rios should b the favorite.

You can't go by these captions. Abril said nothing about Rios "falling" in the article, just the usual "I'm confident" quotes.

I never heard of Richard until the Rios press conference. When they announced the match-up I watched some footage of Abril on Youtube. There isn't that much footage out there. From what I did see, Richard is very tall for a lightweight (5'11") and very awkward. His two losses were SDs against good opposition. New England says he watched the Hank Lundy fight and felt Abril won, apparently the crowd thought so too. Richard defeated Miguel Acosta in his last fight. All this said, Rios is a monster. I don't expect an upset here. But Abril might put on a good show.

There has been some speculation that the confrontation between Brandon and Richard at the Miami presser was a set-up. I'm not big on conspiracy theories, but I wouldn't doubt this one. Abril just shows up at the PC, challenges Rios and gets the nod when Gamboa fails to show? Mmmhmm. Whatever...let's hope we get a decent fight out of this stinking mess.
