First and foremost, I'm not saying that Tim has to win (realistically I don't expect the judges to allow him to win a decision) but he needs to have a good showing. 1. PPV fights generally don't live up to the hype. It's nice to get your money's worth and watch a good fight. 2. If Tim performs well on the big stage his fan base could increase dramatically. A young up and coming elite American boxer will bring more attention to the sport. 3. If the fight is competitive it could set up a potential rematch. Let's face it, Floyd and Manny will never fight each other. Who else is there for Manny to fight other than Petersen if he beats Khan? Manny isn't going to fight Sergio or Khan and what's the point of another Marquez rematch? 4. Floyd and Manny are both on their way out of the sport and new stars need to be born.
Why it's important for Tim Bradley to perform well against Pacquiao

Honestly on JMM has had a case in the career of Pacquiao to have arguably earned a decision and not get it against Pac. but, JMM has a history with those type of decisions outside of Pac. Manny has no history of those kind of decisions outside of JMM. So I don't know why people believe that it is impossible for Bradley to get a decision.Comment

Yes, boxing definetly needs a new star especially with MMA competing with them. If he beats Manny he'll be a household name like Manny.Comment

the biggest misconception is that if somehow bradley wins he automatically becomes a star and boom you have your next ppv seller....
hate to break it to you but its not going to happen , regardless if he wins... there's a thing called marketing, and bradley just doesnt have it.... he's as dull and boring outside the ring as he is inside......Comment
