Having recorded a cash advance and Yuriorkis' desire to have a promotional conference in Miami is evidence to that.
Arum's promotional experience is tied to his legal expertise. I don't know what the law says regarding Gamboa's specific situation. No disrespect, but I don't think you do, either. However, it's entirely possible that any previous "i's" not dotted and any "t's" not crossed might make whatever agreements came later null and void. And Bob hammering away at his underlings doesn't guarantee anything, either.

Just because Top Rank spells everything out so perfectly in their lawsuit doesn't mean that's they did everything perfectly. That is what lawyers do, they make their side appear right. The same can be said about Gamboa's lawyer. We'll see soon enough what's what. Until then, I prefer to remain neutral.

Yeah right because we all know lawyers take cases they can only win.

What a minute, so Gamboa AGREED Verbally to the fight, he got an advance(who knows if he spent the advance) and Top Rank still doesnt have a fight contract with his name on it?

It will be interesting to see how many of those allegations can actually be proven to be true, in court its all about what you can prove, not just what you say.

Either way, if all that's true then Gamboa is gonna be screwed in more ways than one, loss of money for damages and tied up in court, unable to fight.. Loss of prime fighting time, and income... And he'll be completely at fault. If true, smh...

We'll have to wait and see what's true and what isn't in court..

What if Gamboa's side of the story is that he told Arum he wasn't going to fight and Top Rank still went ahead with the promotion. It would be his word against Top Ranks if their isn't a legally binding contract correct? What if he never spent the advance and still has it ready to give it back?

Yep, pretty much.... Who ever is at fault are idiots.

If Gamboa was contractually obligated to fight and didnt and just said peace... Hes a moron... If Top Rank set up all of those press conferences, set up the fight, gave advances and never got a signature on a contract that actually binds him to these so called obligations then ... lol

Please no more amateur lawyers giving their 2 cents on contract law. 1 there is more to contracts than having a signature and 2 there is more to contract law than a verbal agreement. Contract law depends on several variables. For example a mutual promise, offer and acceptance, a promise to perform. So please stop butchering contract law with limited knowledge!

Even better, what if Top Rank can't prove they actually gave him 70k

No, Im sure they can but lol...

It really sounds to me like all those things may of happened, but they dont have a signed fight contract... And Id like to think without a contracted signature where Gamboa legally agrees to be at the presser, agree to the fight etc etc then he isnt legally obligated.

If you read the very first point in their lawsuit... It sounds moe like a "this is what we think is going on"... Which means absolutely nothing in court.
