As a big Gamboa fan, I'm extremely disappointed in his actions. I hope that whatever he's dealing with right now is nothing too crazy, but there's no excuse to sign for this kind of fight then go about it the way he did. You can't expect to pull what he pulled and not face any kind of crap for it. Ah well, it is what it is, I hope it gets resolved soon so we can see him back in the ring, possibly against Salido???

gamboa wasnt happy with the agreement, but took the cash advance? WTF? taking the cash advance means gamboa did agree. im starting to think that his visit to mayweathers gym had something to do with it...besides, in a recent article, didnt gamboa say that he was in vegas training at mayweathers gym because the fight (rios) is in vegas? the mayweathers just created another messComment

Oh yes, I've known about Arum for at least 40 years. He isn't acting as a lawyer he's acting as a sharp promoter. He employs lawyers to do his law work. But, since he was a solid tax lawyer i suppose it's rubbed off on him more than a bit. That's why ignorant fighters, who are handling more money than they were brought up to, don't have much chance when they tangle with him.
They often seem to think that they can ignore contracts and witnessed verbal agreements, and they do it all the time, and the affairs always en the same way, but the fighters never take heed of the lessons played out under their noses. If they were smart, they wouldn't be fighters eventually, at some time, getting their heads knocked off to gratify a mindless mob of "fans" who think that for $200. they're entitled to see someone smashed to smithereens.
I have no illusions about boxing.Comment

It was announced on this news site when the mess began, that Gamboa had recently signed a 2 year extension contract with Top Rank. Am I the only one who remembers what he reads?Comment
