Hey - Bozo and INCITA. Thanks to the great new invention of this forum, this is the last time you mouthy obnxoious wankers get to reply to my threads! **** you both!
OK for the vitriolic posters here, it appears to me that Anorak is not actually hating on RJJ or Hopkins but is merely pointing out the double standard of many of the posters here. I'm sure that there are many who have referred to Lacy specifically in the less than glowing terms. Compare his career to either of the two americans. Then look at Anorak's opening thread again.
Compute.
Then try thinking instead of spewing insults.
Picture these much-lauded fighters being born in Manchester and not Philadelphia or Florida:
Bernard Slopkins:
From The UK: "They don't need a bell to start his rounds, they need a starter pistol. He just runs the whole night and uses his head and tries to nick rounds. Who's he ever fought? He's just defended his title fighting a lot of bums, the Brit ***."
From The US: "Top ten middle of all time, HOF, superb boxer".
Roy Jones:
From The UK: "He just dances around like some kind of chicken and has ducked everybody. He's got a list of nobodies on his belt and he's got a bum chin."
From the US: "All time great, anyone who says different is a 'hater'. He was old for the KOs and weight-drained."
I think Hopkins wouldnt even get a lookin at P4P if he was from Manchester, he'd be considered a joke...........the same way Americans consider Joe Calzaghe a joke, infact they would probably rate Calzaghe higher becuase he doesnt from opponents.
Jones is great fullstop, i dont think he'd have the same rep if he was from the UK but he'd still be considered very good.

Sorry, meant Calzhage in prior post. Just got up and for some reason (lol) I'm putting Lacy and Calzhage in the same phrase right now.
Can't wait for that fight. Jeff Lacy looks good.

You're just mad b/c most british boxers suck.
The good british boxers: Hamed, Eubank, Benn, Lewis, Bruno, hell I'll even say Hatton
The rest of them have basically ******. I might have forgotten one or two.
heres the deal guys, let me lay it down for you real nice. US people over rate US fighters and under rate European fighters. European people over rate European fighters and under rate US fighters. Many US people think Hatton and vitali are over rated. But at the same time many European people think Hopkins and Roy jones are over rated. At the same time many US people over rate RJJ and BHOP while European people over rate Hatton and Vitali. It is the same either way. Everywhere there is nationalism and not necessarily one place more than others. I just dont like how many Europeans on this site keep bringing this up because it goes both ways. We are not the victims Europeans. Yes I reside in Europe as well and i think that threads like this give us a bad name so lets stop.
