Canelo is not 100x more popular than Jr. Actually Canelo lost a lot of fans after his "incident" with Archie Solis.

In his last fight against Cintron, Canelo was supposed to fill a 40K arena in México, yet only 3 or 4K people went to see him, even though they were giving tickets at 2x1.

Not a bad opponent. Coupled with Pacquiao-Bradley from the week before, it'll probably do decent ratings.

Martinez claims the full WBC title will be on the line for his fight against Macklin. So does this mean Chavez has been stripped?
However, Martinez insists that this fight is for the full WBC belt because its current holder, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., refuses to face him and will be stripped of the title.

“This will be for the WBC middleweight title, not the Diamond belt,” asserts Maravilla. “The WBC absolutely guaranteed to me that this is for the full title.”

Well Sergio is apparently fighting a guy who "did well against Sturm" so why not JCC jr?

Apparently having a close fight with Sturm entitles you to another title shot
