good to hear that jose, i hope both two fighters would have the chance to show their wares in the u.s. i really like to see these fighters put their skills to the test against the best out there. for one i would love to see yodsanan takes erik morales and joan guzman to test his mettle with either pac, jmm or mab, that is if he wants to move up to 126 (which i think he should).

        Lennox Lewis=KO'ed by two Americans
Kostya Tszy= KO'ed by Vince Phillips and American
Chi= Lost to Morales a Mexican

Just because you see one or two fighters from the outside come in doesn't mean every in there countries are as good as they are. The reason they got those "breaks" is because they were so good.

If you good they will find you.
they dont find all the good ones, lennox, Tszyu, Chi, Pacquiao are just the tip of the iceberg....

Thats pretty funny hogging the lower weight division fights. No one says that about Trinidad, Hopkins, Winky, DLH, Mosely, and soon tszyu. All they say is I just want BIG fights, they dont fight any up and comers just themselves... and i really mean just themselves and 1 time a year to boot.

Meanwhile all of a sudden Erik Morales who fights 3 times a year, waited years in between rematches with Barrera, in which length he became 3 division champ, fought fighters from all over the world that were near or at the top is a Hog. Thats BS.

There is one way to get to the top and thats through entertaining the crowd, and thats what Erik was talking about how he has to work a little harder to make the money than some other non-Mexican fighters. Of course Erik can box from the outside against some of the less skilled fighters he's fought. Of course he can jab a man to a 12th round victory and semi-run all night. But if he did, he wouldnt get 1/6th the money or exposure a fighter that does that such as Mayweather makes.

That is the road any fighter who wants to make it to the top that isnt American has to take. You have to entertain even if you take punishment in the process. When your TV debut comes around you better be ready. Most unknown fighters wether it be chi, harrison, etc etc, all still live and fight in their countries making an North America TV debut nearly impossible. They need to fight on this side and they gotta put on a show and if they want to make the money and get the big fights. Pacquiao isnt at the top because he caught a break. He is at the top because he worked his ass off for it and was wildy entertaining. Just as was Morales having so much boxing skill always fighting down to his opponents level to make it entertaining.

Remember, the money is here, the fighters are here, and therefore most of the scouts are here as well.

              So
#1 Fight in North America especially the states
              #2 Fight on TV
              #3 Entertain the Crowd

Quite a mouthful there. But good points! Let me just add a 4th and most important of all - Get the best promoter you can find!!

If you have a run-of-the-mill promoter, chances are you'll get run-of-the-mill matches! It's not a guarantee, but top-notch promoters can spell big breaks and big fights!

in my theory, promoters are not keen on looking for prospects in Asia (for example) because they are having second thoughts when it comes to marketability of the fight. Modern boxing is not just boxing per se, but boxing with commercial value.
