JM Lopez and Trainer Not Learning From Past Mistakes

Lopez seemed to have not learned from his previous loss to Salido. What is it with boxers like Lopez, P. Williams, and others who refuse to learn from their mistakes, they blame their losses of lucky shot or bad refs. Boxing is a learning process and if you lose a fight you dissect that fight and see what you did wrong and correct it. Lopez did not do this, he blamed his loss on personal problems. This is when a respected trainer needs to take charge.

For instance Lopez was throwing his punches over salido's head. Salido was bobing and weaving low and Lopez's punches were just going over Salido. Lopez should of thrown punches up the middle to correct this or he should of kept a sustained attack to Salido's body, neither of which he did, nor did his corner give him such advice.

What's next for Lopez, well he needs a new trainer. He needs Emmanuel Steward or maybe Cotto's new trainer would fit. He needs to learn to put his punches together in solid combinations. He needs to work on his defense, but most importantly he needs to rework his offense. This is what happens when fighters just knockout other fighters in short fights, they do not learn. Lopez needs a new trainer then about 3 fights to adjust. Then how about a rematch with Ponce De Leon? My money would be on De Leon. He should stay away from a rubber match with Salido.

As for Salido, he is the man and he can get whatever fight he wants. Maybe he should fight De Leon, but he should stay away from Garcia and Gamboa. Salido is a solid very tough fighter, but he has been beaten 11 times so I think De Leon, Gamboa, Gonzalez would all beat him in an action packed fights.

i agree get a whole new corner crew learn some basics and he will be ok. he did put on a performance though. was funny though is when he knock down salido it was almost over he barely got up and then the bell rang kind of lucky huh. but when juan ma fell down he got right back up, wobble though.
