Comments Thread For: Andy Lee Stops Carlos Duran in Two Easy Rounds

Suburban Collection Showplace, Novi, Michigan - Middleweight contender Andy Lee (27-0, 19KOs) stopped overmatched Carlos Duran in the second round of a stay-busy fight. The opponent came in on late notice and his full record could not be heard over the poor audio on the live stream. The fight itself was a mismatch and Lee could have laid down the hammer at any point in the contest. Lee's trainer and manager Emanuel Steward staged the event. After the bout, Lee called out WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Andy will never get the fight if he doesn't look poorly. He needs to dye his hair gray and use a walker to get to the ring. It would help if he put his teeth in a glass before a loss. Chavez might be tempted then.

Wait wasn't it supposed to be Saul Duran? Is this like the Bautista fight, with False Garcia?

feel free to correct me, but that 27-0 record by Andy Lee as stated in the article is WRONG

didn't Andy Lee lose to Brian Vera ... who he later rematched and beat?

Maybe it's an Irish thing. If you lose to an opponent but then avenge that loss your defeat is deleted from you record...

Carlos who? Was he a bellhop, a waiter, a golf cart mechanic? lol Andy Lee is an a few steps above being an irish bum. He has good fundamentals sure, but fights like a European robot. Lee is possibly top 15 at best in his division but is not a genuine elite fighter. I am sorry but anyone who loses to Brian Vera and gets outboxed over an entire fight by Craig McEwan and has to win at the last minute, is probably not an elite fighter. We can see how he fares against better opposition but I am not sold on him.

Yeah, this was sooo much better than fighting at Madison Square Garden on St. Patrick's Day.

                    Good move, Andy!
