SERIOUSLY. I have zero humor here.

Stick to thinking he would win a head to head matchup or something because on resume's, you fail miserably.

P.S. Anyones resume can be picked apart like that so try being original.
The prime ATG Barrera win alone craps all over anything Pernell ever did.
So who would win head to head?...refer to post #95

No doubt Manny's resume is light years ahead how anyone can argue that is insane. Now head to head Sweet Pea would probably outpoint Pac but who knows is all speculation.

I'm not sure what age you consider his prime but here goes.

        How about:

        Jose Luis Ramirez?(24)
        Julio Cesar Chavez?(29)
        Oscar Delahoya?(33)
        Felix Trinidad?(35)

        (age)

No idea, prime for prime it would be a good fight but if Pernell wasn't at his absolute best he gets smashed in my opinion.

            Anywho....
Speed id probably give to Pac & Accuracy Whitaker....but the fact that Sweat Pea is the far more accurate puncher negates Pacs advantage in speed. Who was faster Pacquiao or Morales? Pacquiao or Marquez? Pac was faster than both of them and he got out boxed by both of them. As a matter of fact an old washed up Morales outboxed a young fast & powerful Pacquiao.

Work rate? Pacquiao BUT work rate doesnt mean anything if your opponent is more accurate and he has a superior defense. All that means is that the more accurate counter puncher would be able to land when he wants. Also work rate diminishes when the better defender and more accurate counter puncher is beating you to the punch. Here are some stats for you...

Pac vs Marquez III he threw 578 punches
Pac vs Mosley he threw 727 punches
Pac vs Margarito he threw 1069 punches
Pac vs Clottey he threw 1231 punches
Pac vs Cotto he threw 780 punches
Pac vs Marquez II threw 511 punches

What happened to Pacquiaos amazing work rate vs Marquez? ......Whitaker is a much better defensive fighter than Marquez & you are telling me that Mannys work rate would be high vs one of the best defensive technicians ever?

Movement? Sweat Pea for sure, Pac wasn't even able to cut off the ring vs Shane Mosley.

Defense? Does Pac even know what defense is? Sweat Pea of course
Whitaker being more accurate is not supported by actual stats. His punches landed on Mcgirt, who was not as mobile on his feet as Cotto, with only 38% accuracy(see stats shown after the 8th rd in the video). 38% is certainly not a figure that proves accuracy. In addition, most of the punches he delivered were jabs. It was roughly 2 jabs for every power punch.
Pernell's defense was not that great either. Mcgirt landed 173 out of 482 punches on Pernell in the first 8 rds. That translated to a 36% accuracy.

Pacquiao on the other hand had an overall 42% accuracy against Cotto in the first 8 rds. Most of those punches were power punches, with a ratio of almost 2 to 1 against jabs, with a 49% accuracy (194 out of 394 power punches).
Cotto managed to land only 132 out of 470 punches on Pac in the first 8 rounds. That translated to only 28% landed.

These comparisons are more credible than your assertions which are not supported by any concrete evidence.

The two videos presented earlier offer a much better insight on who is the more superior fighter. The fact that these fights are where both Whitaker and Pacquiao were the challengers and closer to their primes make the comparison more revealing.

You also ignored power. Pac's more superior power cannot be questioned. Just look at Cotto's face at the end of the fight and that should tell you everything. With this power, even if Pac would only land on Whitaker with the same accuracy rate as Mcgirt did on Pernell, Pac would bust up Pernell's face and probably get a tko.

Pacquiao has faster hands than Whitaker and would land more than any opponents Whitaker ever fought.

Styles make fights. Triangle theories don't work. Pernell was good but so was Barerra, Morales and Marquez.

Pacquiao droped them a total of about 12 times.

Thanks for having sense of reason sir. I was thinking by the poll I was in an alternate universe for a second.
