Alvarez did not want to fight on anyones undercard unless he was financially rewarded for it. Alvarez wanted to headline his own card at Staples Center.

The more I think about it, what the hell is "Canelo vs Mosley" doing in all the Mayweather vs Cotto banners? That's the first time I see that for a Mayweather PPV. Has that ever happen? Probably a desperate selling tactic by Mayweather Promotions/GBP, taking no chances knowing a lot of people know Cotto is a faded fighter, so they wanna draw as much of a Mexican crowd/Mexican PPV numbers as they can. With Floyd also complementing the Mexican fans in the pressers.
