KHan stylistically bests floyd

Walk him down, but what does he do when he gets there? Floyd isn't an inside fighter, Lamont Peterson is, that's his game. He wouldn't be able to walk him down anyway, not without losing a UD like Peterson did (despite what the judges said). It takes more than speed to trouble May. Ask ortiz about Mayweather's power. If peterson can walk down Khan and be effective as crude as his style is then Mayweather would walk khan down and win a UD. Its ok to talk about styles and what not but even if Khan's style would be effective against May it takes a guy who can carry out a tactical gameplan. And if any one is honest with themselves Khan is not that man.

He either walks you down or you get him backing up and have to cut the ring off. Ortiz cut the ring off a few times against Floyd while Floyd was backing up, and had some success keeping Floyd on the ropes, eeven though he didn't land hardly anything. The rest of the fight, Floyd was walking Ortiz down, dominating the action and the fight. If Lamont Peterson, who's a softer puncher than Floyd or at least as soft, can successfully walk Khan down, I think Floyd can.
Floyd doesn't just stand there, he either walks you down, or you get him backing up. Ortiz had Floyd backing up at times in that fight, and a few times he was able to cut off the ring and trap Floyd on the ropes. The rest of the fight, Floyd was walking Victor down and dominating. If you let Floyd walk you down, you have ZERO CHANCE of winnning. You have to get him backing up and trap him on the ropes, and that is in no way shape or form how Khan fights. Khan is the guy getting backed up most of the time.
And who cares what Freddie Roach says??? Of course he's going to say both can beat Mayweather. What else is he going to say, that they can't??? The most important quote from Freddie is the one after the Marquez fight. "“Mayweather is very precise and very conservative with his punches but he’s very accurate and he lands good shots.....We do have trouble with the counterpunching style and Floyd is a great counterpuncher....."
And his whole theory on how "The guy who throws 85 punches will beat the guy who throws 15 a round". Manny doesn't throw 85 punches a round when he's getting landed on and countered right and left, just watch the 3 Marquez fights. His work rate was greatly decreased all 3 of those fights. And Floyd throws more than 15 punches a round, he threw over 200 in 4 rounds against Victor Ortiz.Last edited by 4Corners; 03-08-2012, 12:52 PM.Comment

Peterson is 1 dimensional, he doesnt do anything great just a few things good. He landed more punches on Amir Khan in 12 rounds than Oscar, Mosley & Ortiz were able to land on Mayweather in 28 rounds.
Khan got hit with the same punch over and over and over and over vs Maidana and Peterson.
Show me a fight in which Mayweather got hit repeatedly over the course of a fight with the same punch. Amir Khan fights in spurts/flurries, he has no sustained attack.Comment

How is Mayweather going to walk Khan down when he's beaten to the punch? it's okay against slower fighters, but we're talking the fastest in the sport. He either walks you down or you get him backing up and have to cut the ring off. Ortiz cut the ring off a few times against Floyd while Floyd was backing up, and had some success keeping Floyd on the ropes, eeven though he didn't land hardly anything. His best tactic is to back up, but Khan's superior handspeed and mobility would be factors then too, bear in mind Ortiz is nowhere near as fast as Khan.Comment

wait Khan can beat Mayweather but he lost to Presscot, almost knocked out by Maidana, was running all over the ring & lost to Peterson? This is the guy that can defeat Mayweather? Come on Weebler no way you can seriously believe this.Walk him down, but what does he do when he gets there? Floyd isn't an inside fighter, Lamont Peterson is, that's his game. LAMONT PETERSON WAS BEATING KHAN TO THE PUNCH FOR A VAST MAJORITY OF THAT FIGHT!!!!!!! If Lamont can adjust to Khan's speed and beat Khan to the punch at times, than I think Floyd can. End thread. How is Mayweather going to walk Khan down when he's beaten to the punch? it's okay against slower fighters, but we're talking the fastest in the sport.

Show me a fight where Mayweather fought someone as fast as Amir Khan. The closest is Zab Judah and Floyd had trouble with him for 4/5 rounds.Peterson is 1 dimensional, he doesnt do anything great just a few things good. He landed more punches on Amir Khan in 12 rounds than Oscar, Mosley & Ortiz were able to land on Mayweather in 28 rounds.

Peterson is a bona fide inside fighter and Khan struggles with that, Mayweather is not. He can defend on the inside but in attack it's not his game.Comment
