Who ranks higher Joe Calzaghe or Wladamir on the atg list?

Just to add my two cents into this, it took Calzaghe 10 years to unify the 168 division. What took him so long? He ducked Glen Johnson many times. He only moved up to 175 when the division was weakened.

Joe is without a doubt ahead, although Joes resume is questionable to say the least he still beat better fighters than Wlad both have a lot of C- level fighters on there resume the difference is Wlad got knocked out by 3 of those C- level fighters while Joe remained undefeated he also beat the better names.

Joe fought and beat better opposition than Wlad.

Wlad has easily surpassed Calzaghe in the ATG list, easily. Wlad is 35 years old and still going strong, with no intention of stopping. You heard him when he said he wants to fight two or three more fighters.

Joe Calzaghe. Lots of bummy fights but less than Wladimir and has 2 ATG's on his resume.

The HW division has been around a full 100 years before the SMW division..... Why does it matter??? 2 HW have had 20 or more title defenses in that span.... Since 1984/85 2 SMW have had 20 or more title defenses in that time frame and both were active at the same time and didn't fight each other Sven and Joe..... Holmes and Joe L didn't fight in the same era so it wasn't possible for them to fight..... Not saying Joe couldn't beat Sven but how is that not a black eye on his reign when some ppl deride Holmes and Louis for "lack of comp"??? Idk

3. Joes best win (Hopkins) is very debatable

4. Joe has a contemporary whose #'s of title defenses is similar

Calzaghe IMO. Wlad has the better resume and legacy but he has losses too.

What makes calzaghe better is that he has a weight class where as the HW isn't limited to a weight. Wlad may have skills etc... But his size does help him a lot. For example if he was the same height as haye, haye would have hit him with his jab a lot more.

Joe calzaghe did slap, which is wrong, but also he did have more skills. When Joe got hit hard, he would get up. Wlad would crumble.

Joe had better reflexes, footwork and angles. Wlad is technical very good, but he doesn't stand out special. If a decent Lewis fought wlad, wlad would crumble. Calzaghe fought a decent Hopkins and at least won a SD. He didn't look good, but he clearly made Hopkins feel the pace.

Calzaghe stands a better chance vs ATG's than Wlad does.
