What is everyone whining about? It was a press con. to promote the fight!!
Now tell me if he had turned up short of doing a haye,chisora there wouldnt have been this much press,fan attention.So mission accomplished fight promoted.The fight will still go ahead IMO.A guy like Gamboa doesnt agree to a fight then just bottle it,He would never recover in the eyes of the fans.

Normally, I would agree with you but in this situation beginning with the comments by Roger Mayweather, then the no show at the press conference followed by the appearence at the Mayweather gym in Vegas....all of those things coming together makes me think that there is some cause for alarm. Also, I could be wrong but I haven't heard or read anything from him or his team....I've seen fighters no show these things before, but in most of those situations, the fighter or manager, trainer etc....they made themselves heard not long after.

I hope the fight still goes ahead though, because I was very much looking forward to it.

If Gamboa decided to not honor his contract with Top Rank for whatever reason, I am sure he and his management team will be taken to task in court and lose. In the end Gamboa will not be able to fight for possibly a year until the dust settles. Look what happened to Nonito Donaire when he tried to do the same thing. The court ruled in Top Ranks favor and he was forced to honor his contract. If Gamboa and his team weren't happy with the terms of the contract, they shouldn't have signed it! Plain and simple.

Man i'm gutted about this fight was really looking forward to it but on the other side if it is true he's at the Mayweather gym and signs with them it's looking a bright future with that promotional company with sensational fighters.

how exactly does he have a bright future when he's getting sued and could be out of action for years? (if he doesnt show up to fight)
