How good of a ***** fight would Cloud vs. Froch be?

Think about it. . . Froch is like a slower, less skilled version of Campillo, but he tends to exhibit the same style when facing a come forward, flat footed boxer/puncher type. . . He'll stand in the pocket and trade a lot more than Campillo, has a lot better chin, stamina, and overall punch resistance. Despite moving up, I'd also say he hits harder than Campillo too (although he isn't the quintessential power puncher by any means). . .

This would be straight fireworks! Bring back some old school excitement back to one of boxing's glory divisions. . .

I honestly don't know how this would conclude - Maybe Cloud razor thin decision. . . 114-114;115-113 x 2 type deal.

seriously? no thoughts? this fight could be imminent since Froch won't have anywhere to go after he loses to Bute (stylistic nightmare for Froch like Ward). . .

I don't want to sound like I'm hating on Froch, and it would be fun to watch, but Cloud would destroy him.

You think so? I don't know; I thought Cloud showed how vulnerable he was against Campillo to step-back counters, and a style that is able to transition from standing in the pocket, to fighting off the back foot. . . Moreover, he just nicked it against Johnson. . . Froch has NEVER been "exposed" by a style like Clouds. . . .

I just don't agree. . . I would sure like to find out, though.

Cloud is a strong, relentless, hard hitting son of a gun. I agree, I'd love to find out. We probably will, Froch will likely move up to 175 soon.

Lol. . Skill notwithstanding, it'd be a hell of a scrap. . . Both have iron chins, a seemingly endless supply of gas, and hearts that won't let them lose (although their boxing skills don't always cooperate).

I still think Froch's boxing skills are underrated. . . Against speedy movers like Dirrell and Ward Froch will look slow and awkward. . But against guys like Johnson (who I think is very similar to Cloud), Froch looks like a pretty decent boxer off the back foot. . . His reflexes are a lot better than his base speed indicates. . .

I just can't believe real boxing fans would rather go on about the same pac/floyd nonsense, shills, etc. rather than discuss potential fights between all the other real boxers out there. . . .

Boxing is a lot bigger than pac and floyd, so lets talk about other fighters. . . .

Froch hasn't shown any interest at all in moving up, perhaps he knows he gets hit too often to fight at a higher weight?

He could retire if he loses to Bute, if he loses to him after losing to Ward, where's the incentive to carry on?

Good point Weebler - I think I remember somebody saying Froch said in an interview that "175 was all wrong" for him. .

However, while there wouldn't really be anywhere else to go at 168 because he basically proved he is the best after ward and bute (save a rematch with Kessler). . . I do think he knows there is a few million dollar paydays left for him at 175. . Rematch with Pascal. . Clould would be a favorably stylistic matchup for him. . I think he knows to avoid Dawson, though. . Hopkins as well, although I think he might want to try to "match" Calzaghe by tryign to beat him at 175. .
