Beyond the confines of the bout itself, this will be the fight that shows whether Audley can be a serious contender or not.
Yeah, I know it's a bit early but get in while the going's good, eh?
For my pick I actually think Audley will take this. Forget possibilities like Danny being shot, or doing one of his "mind ****" stunts (though I can envisage him getting disheartened by Audley staying away for the first six rounds then getting stunned by a cluster and the ref stopping it... not terribly likely, but possible) what I'm looking at is Audley.
He's capable of being able to take a decision on this using the jab and so on... possibly. But the big question is, can he take Danny's punches?
I think the fact that he signed up in the first place is proof that he can. Remember, even though Audley hasn't been aggressive in the ring, he's from a rough part of London where he was involved in street fights, and he's done "bird". Audley is the ultimate businessman, and if he didn't think he had whiskers he'd never step in with someone like Danny who isn't exactly a pantywaist. He'd at least wait until getting a title shot before facing a ****er.
Has he the punch to KO Williams? As I said, TKO maybe, but it's unlikely. However, I think he'll have enough to gain his respect in a duller than anticipated by fairly clear UD.
That said, obviously it'd be funny if Danny laid him out, especially as I pay rent on his balls. But it probably would be better for boxing if Audley won, as Danny's hopes of getting another title shot seem slim. With Audley, if he keeps on winning against increasing competition it's got to be inevitable, right?
