I say Ike. It's a shame that he was such a mental case because he could have had a great career in my opinion.

True, but Vitali was injured. And he was winning the fight until he quit.

He was getting rocked by Byrd and was tired as hell..

The injury...c'mon...why QUIT that late in a fight?

Ali didn't let a BROKEN JAW stop him..and he was dealing with a lot more than Chris Byrd..

Vitali couldn't fight with one arm for 2 more rounds??

I love how Merchant reacts to Byrd after that hellacious blow, shows how much he really respects fighters.

i watched byrd vs vitali not too long ago. i had never seen the fight before a couple months ago. i certainly did not have vitali winning by shutout at the time of the stoppage. i thought the fight was much closer compared to the way people on here talk about it.
