He pointed out an adding error. As for the WBA giving Khan a belt, I think it's disgusting. How can anyone justify this mockery of all the fighters who have to fight their way up to a title ? My opinion of the actual fight was that Khan committed such violent shoving, almost assaults, and that the ref would have been justified in disqualifying him. I thought he would. Contrary to all the ignorant uninformed posters, Cooper is actually a very good ref with much experience, who has officiated at several world title fights before.

And he doesn't live in Washington, he lives in a city in ******ia about 70 miles from Washington and was appointed by the WBA. Malignaggi thought that Khan deserved the penalties, and for more than he got. He said that when he fought Khan, Khan was fouling him all the time, holding his head down, elbowing him, pushing etc, and it was about time a ref stepped in and took points. Carl froch said he thought that the ref was excellent, and rightly took the points.

Personally, I think the very same, I was thinking what a good ref this guy is, and I've seen him only rarely.

Khan got this rematch he already won the fight eight rounds to four the first time round now it's time for a second.

I wondered why Lamont wasn't at the wba awards party thing with khan maidana and the rest ...this must be why

Well...he's a cryer, he can't help it, too highly strung. I noticed in his Costas interview that not only was he having trouble with his lips, a la Holyfield, with enunciating trouble, but seemed on the verge of some sort of emotional display, and was holding himself in check.

Just my impression, but he sounds more and more like Holyfield. I wonder if this is the root of his comments about his health???

Sooo...apart from the fact that he had special permission to be there, he would have been entitled to be there just like the other thousands in the arena. Even if he did make a comment to the judge (corrected an add error) that doesn't automatically penalise a fighter. How do you pick which fighter?? Maybe choose the one you don't want to win?? Maybe you had money on the other guy?? Maybe.........maybe.......

I hope you realise how silly your position is.

Froch has never liked Khan may I add and often shares negative opinions on Khan.

Paulie I respect on his views. However he also can have a big mouth too and made plenty of excuses after that bout.

Cooper to me should have stopped the fight, sent Peterson to the corner and given a very strong warning before the 2nd deduction. Quite often refs do that.

Khan was pushing a lot, but it was not violent. There are others who push and particularly hold. Hding is illegal, full stop and stops the other opponent doing what he wanted to. Holding has affected many fights also.

I don't mind deductions for pushing, but the. There needs to be consistency on holding, slapping etc...

The question is not what he did concerning the scorecards. The issue is, was he suppose to be there? He was not weighed to work for that fight according to what I read.

If Cortez jumped in to referee round 12, taut doesn't mean it is right because he is a ref now does it.

If you are not to be sat with the officials, then that is clear as day.

Sounds Like A Lot Of Money Changed Hands!

This is why we need One Governing body, one world title per division. This stuff is so crooked anymore. You have 4 and 5 titles per division, and 3 times as many divisions... Which is why the best don't fight the best anymore. They don't need to. They all get a title, call themselves champs, and take no risk, unlike back in the day of real legends like Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Arguello, and Pryor.

This is why MMA is taking over boxing, cause boxing lately has convert into a fraude from the organizations to the judges look at that Campillo fight beat the heck out of Clou n lost in MMA theres only 1 champion per division so if u want to be the champion u gotta fight the best not like boxing that there are like 5 diferent champions i hope this time Peterson KO Khan

the article has since been edited to reflect the fact that the wba is denying this report which was apparently circulated by khan.
