You are correct. The "Bum of the Month Club" and "Tomato Cans" were coined in this sport. But they typically refered to unworthy and/or untested challengers. Those terms didn't refer to accomplished (and aging) world-class former dominant champions who had moved up in weight for one last run. Mormecks career has earned him the right to a payday and his willingness as a fighter cannot be questioned. How many of us have complained about guys (Kevin Johnson, David Haye, etc.) who talk trash for weeks and then get in the ring and run, hold, and flop for their lives while making us sit through their non-efforts. Mormeck knew in the first minute of the fight that he would not be able to overcome Wlads strength. He also realized that Wlad was quicker and more powerful than he thought. Trading would be futile. Did he run and hug? No. He said **** it and walked into the fire. He gave you all a high-light reel K.O. and you still had enough time left over to go out for some beers. That and a couple of world titles should at least be worth not being called "garbage".

Yes he did....and that's a hell of alot more than Ibragamov, Chambers, or Haye did. Would you respect him more if he just ran, flopped, or held for 12 rounds? Or if he jumped out of the ring? Or if he fell down and feigned injury?
