You are at least honest about the fight, it can play out either way, it all matters whos game plan and who has more heart that will win this fight.
What is telling to me is the fact that Gamboa asked for this fight straight away...He's the one who said "eff it let's do this ****". He asked for a gorilla & didn't even consider a catchweight. That mindset & confidence is very telling....very telling. I personally think Brandon is going to run into a buzzsaw once they clash. Acosta hurt Brandon several times in that fight. His mistake was he abandoned the fight strategy that was working. YG is very very fleet of foot and fist...I'm actually hoping Rios knocks Gambeezy down So we can see him get off the canvas & really compete....just air rios out. how fun would that be...
Garcia's words sound almost exactly like what I wrote in an earlier post regarding the fight between Gamboa and Rios. Mikey's insight adds weight to my concerns. That said, Garcia isn't Yuri. He doesn't have Gamboa's capabilities, nor does he fight in the same style. I regret that I agree "Bam Bam's" size and power will tell in this fight, but "El Ciclon's" talents mean that the outcome of this match is far from certain.
War Gamboa!
Good points man. I don't know bout you but I'm counting the seconds for this one.
Garcia has to realize that Gamboa is on another level. I mean with all due respect to Mikey, he's also very talented I think I'd even give him the edge to beat Juanma if they fight ever did happen or happens sometime in the future, but Gamboa really is a rare type of talent. Dude is just too fast and has power but the question becomes: will that power translate with the weight?? And will it even be enough to hurt Rios?
Too many x factors, I agree with Phantom it's hard to make a prediction, but I have to roll with my boy Rios on this one
I don't know bout you but I'm counting the seconds for this one.
Same here, my brother. I'm just hoping the rumors I'm reading about are highly exaggerated, if not altogether false. Gamboa needs to address the things they're saying about contract issues and weight problems very soon.
You don't say Mikey!...Rios is a light welter, as opposed to Gamboa, a fighter who should be at super feather. This is a pointless fight, Rios just holds too many physical advantages over Gamboa to make this fight competitive. There's a reason we have weight categories, and I'm afraid this will eventually become increasingly evident as the fight progresses.
These guys are among my top 10 favorite talents in the sport right now- been following gamboa for a long time and think he is indeed a rare talent- this does sound like a payday move for him though...2 weight classes is too much to jump up to fight someone like Rios.....I though that a fight with Broner would have perfectly timed for both fighters and would have been an amazing matchup. I hope that this doesnt mess up gamboas career...Rios has the reach advantage and hits extremely hard with both hands...and I definitely see this one going down like the Acosta fight. hope that Im wrong because I'd like to see gamboa fight FAIR tough opposition for a long time...I agree with mikey g on the outcome of this one though.
