    Head movement.

Do you beleive that fighters with godlike head movement are born with that intuition? I'm talking about guys like james toney, whittaker, JCC, floyd mayweather sometimes.

Or do you think it can be learned and taught?

it is their eyes, they don't posses a radar. if you blindfold them, they will slip and slide as best they can but will be hit. the skill is in seeing the opponent and being able to react

a counter puncher never uses head movement on a shoulder roll on a fetus

position like floyd/toney is doing, when he is under attack he uses dodging on his

right shoulder then spin over then clinch.... they can use head movements when

      tag on the ropes sometimes.

most head movements are used by sluggers to avoid jabs... like tyson.

It can be developed through strenuous work.

Reflex's refined. But some people just have better reflexes naturally.

I think he is talking about the "flirting with the false line of attack" type of head movement. serpentine head movement, not side to side

It's taught, its why fighters trained by certain trainers possess that ability.

Cus D'amato taught head movement to Patterson and Tyson, I expect if R. Mayweather had a significant fighter aside from Floyd they would fight very similar, although good reflexes are a requirement.

Similar to the way Steward trains the majority of his fighters to fight behind a stiff jab or how Roach teaches his fighters to fight on the outside and use footwork and a high guard as defense. It's taught.

Alright, so most say it can be taught. I see a big difference between the head movement of james toney and mike tyson. Well duh, they were trained by different people... but, tysons head movement seems like it is pre-defined in his head. He practices it a million times and repeats the same procedure.

James toney on the other hand Seems like he is able to improvise, he goes with the game and doesnt use his pre ritualed "moves" like tyson does.

                Anybody else notice this?

Yes. Pac use to do the same thing. He's a little more natural with his head movement now.

I think Toney is just very natural fighter. He's been in the ring since was a kid and can anticipate the punches better. Its like a natural reaction for him now.
