Comments Thread For: R. Mayweather: For Right Money, I'd Tell Floyd To Hit 175

Roger Mayweather, uncle and trainer of Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs), could picture his nephew taking a fight at 160-pounds with Sergio Martinez - but the money has to be right. On May 5th, Mayweather moves up to 154-pounds, for the second time in his career, to challenge WBA champion Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

SMH...comparing all of the Mayweather clan you could come to the conclusion that Floyd is the most level headed person in the group. That's f'd up.

              Roger is losing it.

Mayweather could perhaps fight at 160, I imagine weighing in at 156 or around there.

168 is out the question, let alone 175

If you look at the punch stats, the bout was lopsided. It was a whooping in terms of a boxing match, not a slugging match. Floyd is not a slugger and he doesn't carry the same power he did at lower weights.

Still, to stand and trade with someone who outweighs you by a good 20lbs and get the better of him shows who the boss in the ring was.

DLH had moments mostly against the ropes, but even then Floyd was toying with him. Floyd took chances and got caught a few times ... showing his chin ... but if people were expecting a 150lb fighter to KO or even knockdown a guy who came in about as big as a LtHW(175lbs), then they were delusional from the get-go.

Boxing isn't about whose face is messed up .. and if you use that as a gauge to determine who won then you're MMA fan.

Is flloyd goes up to 175 he is def on the roids, for a guy in his 30s to stick on 30 pounds of muscle naturally is pretty impressive.
