NEW YORK — Floyd Mayweather Jr. laughed when asked if he would stay in Manhattan long enough to attend the Knicks’ next home game Wednesday night against Cleveland.
I disagree with Floyds comment about Lin. The reason that Lin is getting so much press and why his story is so unique isn't solely because he's asian. His story is unique because he is a Ivy league educated player that had already been in the league for a year plus and wasnt getting any play time, then he blew up and has been doing a very good job. Does him being asian play a part in him getting the publicity he has been getting? OF COURSE but its not the sole reason behind it.
I'm so tired of athletes playing the race card, once you've made it to the professional level race has very little to do with whatever sport you play. I heard a radio interview with Floyd and Rude Jude and the first defence Floyd played was "You white ain't you? AINT YOU?!?!" Now what in the hell does a radio announcers skin color have to do with his opinion on Floyd career? Especially when he works on a HIP HOP STATION? Just so sick of racism in the world these days, there are way more important things going on.
On another point im super excited for Floyd's fight with Cotto.
Mayweather should stand firm on his tweets on Lin he was partially correct in what he said and Espn first take did like 3 race topics on Lin nobody says anything when they bring up the issue
if i have to use floyd's ****** logic and twist it a little bit i would say...
Lin is a good player...so why was he undrafted? because he's asian...if he was black he would've been drafted in the second or even first round.
works both ways really
It does work both ways if Kevin Love Jimmer Fredette and Adam Morrison were black they wouldn't have been lottery picks them being white helped their draft status

the money that the elite african american athletes make doesn't allow me to feel sorry for them...but the game is obvious...once you get to making a certain amount of money and reach a certain staus...you can no longer be a NORMAL african amercian....imo limitations is placed on their actions and words....for instance, Cotto saying he was gonna make all PR's proud could not have gone unscrutinized if Floyd or any other african american fighter would've said it
as for the Lin ish....that lil' mess got blown so way outta proportion that its a shame!!
This is a sticky situation, but maybe floyd does have some validity. I wonder if Tiger Woods wouldve gotten so much hype back in the day if he werent black/asian?
