The New York Times reports on the payout Floyd Mayweather is set to receive from his fight against Victor Ortiz Saturday. With all said and done, Mayweather could be paid $40 million.
In addition to his reported $25 million payout for fighting Victor Ortiz, Mayweather will receive a portion of the gate, concessions, souvenirs and PPV revenue.
Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions explained the structure to the NY Times.

You are completely missing the point, 50-50 is based on their identical income generating powers, in terms of PPV and gate receipts... Now with all that brouhaha about expenses during promotions, merchandize, venue and many others that concerns the promoters, it's between Arum and Floyd... Ok, to make it simpler, let's just say the fight generated about 280mil all-in-all, PPV, ticket sales and sponsorships, they will split it in half 140mil each but Manny will pay Arum's cut as promoter, let's say 27%.... While Floyd will get 100% of the 140mil but will share half of the expenses with Arum as co-promoter... The big difference, Floyd would be adding what Arum is getting as profit on top of what was Manny was getting as a fighter... So this arguement of Floyd should be getting more because he is his own promoter is boid, because that's the very essence of a fighter choosing to be the promoter as well, TO GET THE BIGGER SHARE OF THE PROFIT!!!

This figure of Manny only getting 6mill tops per fight is questionable and to be honest ridiculous, coz we don't really know what he gets exactly per fight, for all we know this 6mill may have only been declared publicly for TAX purpose only, but Manny's true net income will only be known by Manny himself... Now just to go along with your logic, let's just say that Manny really only gets 6mil out of his 20mil profit due to cuts that only you *****s knows, then that would make the 40mil guarantee by Floyd would only leave Manny just 12mil for himself... Then isn't it good business to get 50% out of a potential 250-280mill superfight???!!! For he will surely receive more than 12mill for this...
This fight is a potential 160mil+ PPV buys with potential gate receipt of 70-80mil, that is all excluding additional pays from sponsorships, so all in all, it is a potential 250-280mil superfight, half of that is 125-140mil... Even if you take out Arum's cut, the remaining would far exceeds the supposed 40million guarantee by Floyd... 40mil out of a 280mil revenue is so not fair!!! It's not even a 70-30 split!!! And as far as the Ortiz fight, OSDT was only the concern, Floyd said if Manny will submit to FULL OSDT, then we have a fight... So WTF now???!!! If i am Floyd and i am so sure that i'll KTFO this overhyped midget, i will take up on his challenged of 55-45 purse split with the winner taking the lion's share, with that in the system, i will surely be taking home more than he is....

There is a difference on what a guarantee is. Floyd fans don't seem to understand what it is.

A guarantee is a guarantee... But PAC probably makes more if he sells more PPV.

Floyd promotes his own shows, and his makes his own gurantee, which is obviously, like any man saying I will gurantee myself 50 mil. Anyone can say whatever they want for themselves, whether it happens is another story.

Anyway for a fight where casuals even talk about it, it is gonna hit 2 mil at least. PAC has his fans, floyd his, both will make a lot of money at 50/50.
