I'm all for bringing along a fighter steadily, no need to rush when they're a relatively young age. Boytsov is only 26 and has time on his side but he's had 30 fights, he's ranked: 6 - Ring, 4 - WBC, 4 - WBA, 4 - IBF and 4 - WBO. I'm not asking for him to be thrown in with the Klitschkos but I'd like to see him fight some names in the heavyweight division. Guys like Chagaev, Thompson, Chambers, Arreola then if he can beat them look at guys like Dimitrenko or Povetkin. Am I being too harsh on him? Or would you agree he needs to step his competition up a bit?
When Is Boytsov Going To Step Up?

Yes, Boytsov is one of several heavyweights who needs to step up.
Others include Ustinov, Perez, Mitchell, Wach and of course Wilder.
Boytsov was ready to fight Pulev for the European HW title on March 31 if Dimitrenko turned it down, but it seems that Dimitrenko is taking the fight. -
The guy is a huge talent and although he has a size disadvantage compared to other heavyweights, he could be a force in the post-Klitschko era.
His big problem are his injuries. He broke his right hand as an amateur in Russia, supposedly did not get sufficient treatment, and had it operated as a pro twice already. That's the main reason he did not step it up in recent years, because he always had to be brought back after long injury breaks.Comment
