According to sources in Italy, EBU super middleweight champion James DeGale will indeed defend his title in Denmark, against Italian mandatory challenger Cristian Sanavia. Sources in Italy state the location is a done deal.

Degale would have been better suited under Golden Boy, and moving to the US. That combo would make him a star!

While sauerland might not get him any fans or recognition in america or britain there's a lot of attention and money in german boxing. A few slightly-below-elite european super middleweights for him to build a record against as well.

It might be rubbish (who are these italian sources?) but I don't think it would be a bad move.

        Still mysterious.

If this fight goes ahead at the planned date in Denmark, then we are still missing the main event of that card, because Sanavia-DeGale has little appeal to a danish audience.

          Wild speculation:

Since the Bute-Froch negotiations apparently are in difficulty maybe we'll see Kessler-Froch II as the main event? Sauerland has made it clear that they want Abraham vs. Stieglitz so maybe they are tricking Kessler out of the titleshot by giving him Froch instead?
