    Comments Thread For: Pacquiao, Roach: Discuss Marquez Issues, Fourth Fight

    NEW YORK — Manny Pacquiao hasn’t ruled out a fourth fight against Juan Manuel Marquez.

    Pacquiao didn’t think it was wise, though, to meet Marquez a fourth time June 9, despite that at least some boxing observers believe Marquez did enough to beat Pacquiao in their third fight Nov. 12 in Las Vegas. That’s why Pacquiao approved promoter Bob Arum’s suggestion to fight undefeated WBO junior welterweight champ Timothy Bradley once it became clear that his long-awaited showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr. wouldn’t materialize. Of course Marquez is still an option. They need someone to fight since they obviously dont want any part of Floyd. Plus at 38 Marquez is still too young. Maybe theyll wait four more years than give Marquez another shot at 160.

        I'm a Pacquiao fan but all I heard here was...I dont wan't to get beat again! Pac said "I dont want to lose the fans" but with the exception of the Marquez trilogy, every fight since Cotto have been bull***** fights with handpicked opponents that "the fans" didn't wan't to see. To me this is what seperates Pacquiao from the greats. The true greats of the past would fight the guy who the fans wanted to see or the guy who was the biggest threat. Pacquiao's career is being tarnished by his di****able promoter Arum and the leeches he calls Team Pacquiao. He needs to put his foot down and fight the best and quit making everyone around him rich with the safe fights. Bradley is a good start. Mayweather would have been a "great" start.

                  I agree with Roach about Nacho's advice, they tried to coast and take the easy route, and it cost em. Also agree that Marquez doesn't have killer mentality.

                    Pacman vs Marquez 4th encounter can still happen at the end of the year;

                    As to why Pacman is fighting Bradley, well, in the past Pacman been criticized for not fighting African-American, after, Mayweather Jr didn't give Pacman the right to negotiate the Percentage of their Fight; rejecting Pacman's 50-50 and instead simply offered 40M flat.

                    Pacman is fighting an undefeated Bradley; while Mayweather Jr is fighting a Pacman's leftover.
