Man boxing is based on Marquess of Queensberry Rules, Which is like the fuccking Bible and cant be taken word by word. Its so out dated

The sport has evolved and clinching and pushing are part of the sport, it happens in EVERY SINGLE FIGHT.

    Get over it.

As long as you're cutting weight without using illegal substances it's perfectly legal and can infact hurt a fighter more than help them at times.
No disrespect but you have a lot to learn about boxing. Floyd clinched his way to knocking Hatton out, it was a great strategy and nothing cheap about it unless it's extremely excessive.

I saw Alexander holding but only after winning exchanges with Maidana. If a fighter is holding just to hold, that's a big difference. Alexander fought a very smart fight and dominated a very tough opponent by getting off first.

Mayweather clinched Hatton? Are you blind?

Hatton clinches excessively in all his fights.

Alexander would punch and clinch for DEFENSE. That's garbage.

Alexander looked fluid when he was relax and at times look really good.

All that clinching killed it for me, plus it was causing headbutts also.

My point was if you can do something that is going to give you an advantage, illegal or not; real or perceived, and nothing is going to be done about it, then why not take advantage of it?

"Don't get it twisted, they were both holding in that fight. Your video is a perfect example too. Devon did what was necessary to not only win, but dominate. He didn't run, and wasn't the one leading with his head while swinging wildly at times. Maidana got outclassed simple and plain."

                NOPE.

Boxing fans just don't know what they're watching these days. Sad.

I would much rather enjoy less clinching and more forehead to forehead fighting on the inside with body shots and uppercuts rather than excessive clinching.

Look, your going from one extreme to another. I think that clinching can be cheap if it's done just to survive, Alexander wasn't doing that, not by a long shot.

I think clinching can be a part of a fighters strategy and even though the video counted 119 clinches, it's ridiculous to think that Alexander did nothing but clinch and that was the reason he won the fight.

He won by being first, landing the better combinations and hurting Maidana on a few occasions. Alexander fought a hell of a fight, props for making it look so easy even though of course it wasn't.
