I think he's still evolving as a fighter. No one can say if he'll succeed or fail when he steps up. I think he's made improvements since the Ponce fight.
He was huge and did enough to beat Perez. The size and weight difference was too much IMO.
About his speed, I think he's fast but not extremely fast, but his his hooks as you point out are just really wide and could certainly be a weakness against guys that are about his size or that have quick hands.
He's certainly not the new Floyd Mayweather Jr, he has some bad flaws but right now he's fighting smaller and weaker fighters. The 130 is extremely weak and I'm waiting for him to move up to 135 where there are several fighters who are significantly better than at 130.
Broner will be matched carefully with opponents that are sub par to sell the athletic flash appeal. Hes a good fighter, but dont expect him to be in high risk fights for most of his career. his character and mouth will help him get fight buyrates..
