Broner's strict counterpunching style is going to lose him winnable fights. In the DPDL fight, he couldn't time and pinpoint his counterpunches, but it took him about 5 rounds to adjust to Ponce De Leon and after adjusting for 1-2 rounds and clearly winning the rounds (through leading), he reverted back to his familiar style of strictly counterpunching (what wasn't working) and continued to struggle as he had in previous rounds.

Eloy is going to give him trouble tonight, his speed and footwork can throw off Broner's timing. Perez has trouble against a well timed jab and right hand, but he doesn't have to worry about that tonight. If he feints through his footwork, jabs, is busy (50-60 punches per round is good against Broner), and a few other tactics, he can win this fight (of course, he's going to have to handle Broner's power well the few times he will land and be able to keep up his level of activity).

Adrien Broner is downright hilarious. He was straight clowning Eloy on Twitter for the whole month

bumped this thread to say i told you so and for nothing else.

if you were more sold on perez than you were on broner i feel sorry for you, especially given the events of saturday and the huge gap in class that was apparent during and before (if you know where to look,) the fight

Adrien Broner definitely showed that he's a huge future talent for the sport. Seems to try way too hard to sell himself but at the moment, his talent appears to be top notch. I'm interested in seeing how he develops over the course of his career.
