He can retire with the claim of lasting longer than Ricky Hatton against Pacquiao, a win over Morales, Santa Cruz, and becoming champion. Not a terrible career.

I respect that he knows he wasn't a good fighter. He seems happy with just his Olympic career and says his pro career was just a plus. Gotta respect that.

Good for him, I think it was a wise decision.

to the op yep mate its true..put it on my twitter as soon as he said he was retiring

David has just mentioned this on his radio show , he was offered both marquez and Linares but has knocked them back because he feels his health and his family are most important at this time in his life.

Diaz was a Former Olympian and WBC 135lb champion

Enjoy your retirement - Diaz always came to fight.

The last sentence was harsh, uncalled for. But it made me laugh a bit.

Diaz is a real class act he did not grow up that far from me in Chicago and came up through the Chicago Park District program through Hamlin Park. Enjoy retirement champ. Did he say if he was going to stay in Boxing? Trainer or have a gym or something?
