    That's a great question.

No doubt what so ever in my mind, I would pick John H Stracey during his fight with Jose Napoles in 1975.

Without question the best performance of a British boxer in history.

Travelled to Mexico to face their adopted son

    fight at high altitude

30,000 rabid Mexican fans against him

    a Mexican referee

    3 Mexican judges

Napoles floors him in the first.

THEN against ALL THAT, he come back and wins in the 6th

He quite deservedly received an open top bus parade through the streets of East London on his return as the WBC welterweight champion of the world.

    An inspirational performance.

1990's Roy Jones was as close to unbeatable as a fighter will ever be Imo, that Roy would be able to hang with any boxer that ever lived imo.

If ali never had his license taken from him and derived him from his prime years , I imagine him at the age of 27 being the best fighter ever.

Well if it's to beat any other fighter in history it has to be a heavyweight.

                  Muhammad Ali from 1964-1967.

If he hadn't had his lecense taken from him and been forced into 3 1/2 years of exile, which dimished his skills a bit, there's no telling when he would have lost. He was, in his prime, unbeatable. I'm sorry. I don't see any fighter beating a prime Ali. The Ali that fought Cleveland Williams in 1966 was the perfect fighter. Crazy speed and accuracy, amazingly quick feet, combos, good power. He had it all.

Roy Jones in his prime during the 90's as well.

Mayweather at 130 lbs, especially the night he fought Corrales was close as well.
