Cloud needs to sharpen up alot of tools, because right now he's a raw talent with a ton of athletic ability. But Al Bonnani did a horrible job last night with giving Tavoris the advice he needed, I had the feeling that Cloud was fighting on basic instinct all night. Bonnani was under pressure and he's the one who buckled and didn't help his fighter when he needed it, HOW he needed it, and last but not least what he needed. Cloud was in a tough fight that I think he could of done alot better in, if not won if he had a world class experienced trainer in his corner. Bonnani seems to have the attitude "If my fighter is in good shape he'll win the fight" but he doesn't seem to know the science or technicalities of the sweet science, or if he does he sure as hell never expresses it.
I could see even in past fights Cloud would look at him in the corner like he needed advice and Bonnani wouldn't say the right things. He needs a Ronnie Shields in his corner or someone of that nature. This situation heavily reminds me of the situation with Leow and Pavlik. Leow didn't know the technicalities of the sweet science, and he was too close to Pavlik emotionally to really sit his ass down and tell him like it is, THAT, is Cloud and Bonanni. Hopefully last night was a wake up call for Tavoris. Don't know if anyone agrees with me, but this is just my opinion.
