I had it 114-112 for Campillo. Typically, when I score a card like that (close fight), I can see how a judge might have it a draw or the other way. However, looking at my annotated card, I would have to have given Cloud every round that was closer than the all-out-whooping he received in seven, eight, and nine. Campillo undoubtedly won rounds 2, 5, 7, 8, and 9. He clearly won 3, 10. Now, while Campillo outlanded Cloud in round 11, Cloud did land his fair share, including a huge right hand while Campillo was getting loose. Still, I thought Campillo was more prolific and more effective for the majority of the round. Rounds 6 and 12 were close. I thought Cloud controlled most of round 6, although Campillo did open up late. I also thought he was the only fighter doing anything for most of the twelfth, although Campillo lit him up with some stuff late. I thought Cloud edged out Campillo in both of these rounds. Round 1 was clearly Cloud's 10-7, and round 4 was clearly Cloud's (despite what the Showtime crew thought...Campillo didn't do a thing in round 4). When the dust settled, 114-112 Campillo, and that score is deceiving.

I would like to see a rematch.

That was also as close as you could even conceive of it ever being. I say find me the 4th round to give to Cloud because I sure as hell didn't see it. I thought 4 rounds to Cloud was really being incredibly generous.

You could not, by any standard known in boxing, have given Cloud more than 4 rounds. You might come back and counter with the oft repeated BS of "It's all subjective" but that's only true to a small degree. Its only subjective when it's close and there are two different styles at play. This wasn't close. Campillo clearly dominated the rounds and the others that Cloud won, apart from the first, were arguable.

The only possible subjectiveness was in whether Cloud could have won 4 rounds at all. Did he win the 12th? Arguable. Did he win the 11th? Maybe, maybe not. The rounds that Campillo won are not subjective.

You can't argue that Mosley lost five rounds against Margarito can you? But it's subjective isn't it? Can you possibly be right in saying that Mayweather lost a round against Gatti? It's all subjective after all.

Guess what? It's not. When you lose, you lose. It was not a close fight.

They both lost their titles in fights with Campillo).

It's truly tragic. This doesn't help Campillo. That's the worst part of it all. Being robbed doesn't make his career better. Without those titles that he easily won, he has no bargaining power at all and has once again shown to be one of the craftiest fighters in the division and very difficult to beat. No one will risk fighting him.

Certainly he won't get a shot with another 'champion' any time soon, despite the fact that it is actually him that truly holds the IBF and WBA titles. When will boxing ever get it's feet on the ground and actually start to show true initiative in being a proper world class sport. It is currently nothing more than a money making, corruption machine that has heads shaking in disdain. Boxing a sport? More like a circus act on the level of the soap opera WWE.

Despite most saying you can only get a fair shake in the US, it has now produced the single worst robberies in each of the last few years. The worst part is that it is so common that nothing gets done about it at all anymore. So the judges from Williams/Lara were suspended. What about the fight. If you go so far to say these judges were utterly inept, if not downright corrupt, why not change the verdict of the fight. Williams has a 'win' that furthers his career, while Lara has a loss that makes his record look like something it is not.

When will the official boxing commission become 'official'? Why bother having a commission when they don't do anything apart from the ceremonial BS?

****ing ridiculous sport. A pile of steaming corrupt ****e. It's truly sad that nearly everyone on chat sites and forums following the fight were already calling 'robbery' by the 10th round.
        Excellent post.

          Very good. I agree.
Beibut Shumenov's loss vs Campillo was not controversial.

That being said I would love Shumenov vs Cloud.

They should match Cloud with Shumenov for the Two Guys Who Robbed Campillo World Title. Bad for boxing to see a guy win title fights only to get them taken from him just because he has to always fight on the road. Cloud should rematch him in Madrid, but he won't

YESSIR -- TOTALLY ****ED UP. I can't believe they don't ever change peoples records. So many people have cheated or been given gifts in famous fights you would think this **** would stop. That one suggestion about adding more judges is interesting. The corrupt ass commission should look into firing these judges and changing the "wins" on peoples records to what they rightfully are - LOSSES.

Great Post. Next weekend we have Devon Alexander, another Don King fighter, fresh off of two robberies in his last 3 fights (Kotelnyk,Matthysse) fighting in St.Louis again and if Maidana doesn't stop him i'm sure we'll see another ***ing travesty.
