Only in this era can a two cent salesman like David Haye enjoy the kind of attention, misguided respect, and financial compensation he has in relation to the ring skill he demonstrates.

If only David Haye were ten to twelve years older -then he would've come of age in the 90s heavyweight scene and we could've watched him get starched and shut up by guys like Tua, Golotta, Ibeabuchi, Moorer, Botha (yes, Botha!), Mercer, Bruno, Old Foreman, Old Holmes, Briggs, etc... I won't even bother mentioning the A list guys (Holy, Lewis, Tyson, Bowe) as it would've been a fistic equivalent to in-ring homicide.

I am aware that the same could be said about Vlad and Vitali. But they, at least, go about their business with class and a measure of dignity.

i see it like this. Haye is a 6'3 215 lb heavyweight in an era dominated by 6'6 250 lb giants. As disappointing as he was against Wladimir, he still was standing after 12. people love to talk about how dominate the Klits are but Wlad couldnt put Haye away and neither will Vitali. As far any other heavyweights making noise right now (Chisora, Price, Fury) this little big man (Haye) would give them all they can handle. so if the Vitali / Haye fight doesnt happen and Haye decides to retire, then good riddance. If he stays and fights then we have some pretty entertaining years ahead.
