It's funny you mention that: it was reported last year that Wilder sparred with David Haye to ready him for the Vitali fight. I'm no Haye fan but, that sparring experience probably did more for him than fighting a bum of the month...

He's the HW version of Tyrone Brunson at this point, who incidentally hasn't fought since getting sparked out over 2 years ago at age 24. I know he doesn't have much of an AM background, but this is getting ridiculous.

We should all email this guy and voice our displeasure of their management of Wilder. You can email Jay Deas on this page:

This is just silly now. Why not go for somebody like Raphael Butler or Vinny Maddalone? I guess he's just holding back until the Klitschkos start to fade and will start fighting contenders when they're gone.

                    That's how I see it.

A bunch of KO wins against nobodies, that doesn't mean anything at all once he faces somebody who can fight back even a little.

Not how I want to see it go, but it is more and more looking like writing on the wall, pretty much.

yep and it's sad because Deontay could be pretty good. He's going to feel like everything is going to be easy and fall in love with his power (which may or may not be real power in the first place) and he'll develop bad habits while never learning how to deal with real fighters.

Like JJ mentioned, look at Tyrone Brunson. Maybe if he was managed properly he could have been a decent fighter.

Managing fighters is an art form. You really have to know how to slowly progress in the right direction, get the right opponents but this is really sad & pathetic.
