Who's trying to defend Vitali's crap performance? Yes, it was relatively bad for his standards. Even though he won the fight and dominated the scorecards (even the most anti-Klitschko scorecard is not even close).
I pretty much called it as it happened. I knew Vitali would win but Dereck's style would cause him problems. Vitali won on points, he didnt dominate *****.

      • Dunno WTF is wrong with some people on here. If it aint his age its some other ****. Vitali hadnt lost a round since coming back, yet he lost a few to a guy most people thought was going to get smashed to bits within a few rounds. A fight like this really does sort the wheat from the chaff as far as boxing fans are concerned.

Look, Vitali is a f.u.c.k.ing awesome specimen as a fighter, but every dog has his day. Douglas had his against a complacent Tyson,Chisora had his against an aging, but still great Vitali...And I also remember some cat giving a greying Lennox Lewis the fright of his life before getting stopped on a horrific cut.

**** on Chisora for being a mentalist all you want, but at least he went in there with no fear and made Vitali look garbage for the first time since coming back. Lets not forget that big V has been quite busy, and if Del boy is as **** as a lot of people here are saying, how come he could do what so many others havent even got close to managing?

        • Men the size of Vitali aren't as agile and he moves in an especially akward way.
And if you didn't notice, he moved A LOT in this fight, especially for a 40 year old, 6'8 fighter. Chisora's style was basically move his head, cover his face and march forward, Vitali probably should have clinched more early on to save some of his energy for when Chisora slowed down. Chisora showed a great chin but the way he started to get hit in the middle of the fight if VK had been fresh he could have gotten a stoppage. Chisora is still garbage both as a fighter and a person but I'm sure he will get more big fights just based on the toughness he showed against Vitali. I don't think Vitali looked the way he did because he's old, just fought a tough pressure fighter and by the time he started to land some good shots he didn't have the power left to hurt him.

          • Chisora gained alot of experience tonight and i think he should fight Wladimir next

            • I'd like to see that too, I think he'd lose though because Wlad's jab has a lot more on it than Vitali's, I could see a Wlad/Brewster II-like fight playing out but who knows...

              • Never thought Id see the day of Vitali running scared from a guy with a 15-2 record.

Vit strikes me as a guy who wont know when to quit until its too late. Hes eventually going to get beat by an inferior opponent in his next 3 fights.

Yeah.... but he took on a more seasoned version of Chisora with 20 lbs of flesh less.

When a fighter has to apologize to his fans for failing to stop his opponent while losing all but 2 or 3 rds in the fight & NOT being outlanded or outthrown in every rd... something gotta be wrong. A unanimous decision while using mostly his right hand is a negative performance & yes Vit had something wrong with his left hand & therefore couldn't keep Chisora at bay as much as he would've liked.. he curbed Areolla better because both hands were healthy.

                    • vitali just beat chisora with 1 hand tied behind his back.

                      very impressive.

this should put him as 1 of the top 50 heavyweights of all time.
