    Rances Barthelemy - 130lb prospect

Recently caught up with all the ESPN FNF stuff and this guy looks like he can go the whole way.

At 5,11 he is massive for the weight and will probably move up a few weight divisions before he retires. The boy from Cuba has everything , fast jab , KO power , brilliant body attack which he switched to the head with ease , supremely confident , a great inside game and a walk forward style that will be crowd pleasing.

Whisper it....i thought his style in beating another 130lb prospect in Hylon Williams Jnr was MARGARITO like when the mexican was at his peak.

15-0 11 KO's im hoping this guy gets a lot of exposure this year as i think hes ones of the best younger fighters ive seen in a while. ESPN should defo get him on more to showcase his talents.

What are your Thoughts on his performance vs Williams Jnr on the 3rd Feb????

if he's who i think he is he started better than he finished

he was a lot bigger than his opponent. i dont know enough about the guy to know what the deal with that was, but the guy could not hurt bathelamy.

i did like the kid. complete product for a young pro. some talent too.
like you said, he looked huge.

perhaps he finished slow because he's outgrowing the weight class. who knows. 130 is historically very weak. the big fights (or if he's good enough and cuban, the big fighters they will claim are avoiding him,) will be at 135 and 140

i hope we see him in some more testing fights , beating an undefeated fighter in an even money match was a good result

hes only 25 so has plenty of time...i think he will end up a welterweight

I was at that fight. I just happened to be in town and took the opportunity to catch some live fights featuring a Cuban prospect. I had previously caught some Youtube footage of Rances Barthelemy and was curious to see how he'd do against another prospect in Hylon Williams.

Rances looked "okay". Perhaps I was hoping to see a more meaningful performance, but I didn't leave the ballroom thinking Barthelemy would be a star. True, Rances pressed the fight; but, although Hylon shows good skills, and is undefeated, he has no power to speak of. I thought Barthelemy lacked snap in his punches, despite his impressive KO ratio. Rances enjoys a great physical attribute in his height advantage, but he sports an unusually long neck. I can picture a power puncher snapping his head back on the end of it. Time will tell....

i hope ESPN keep showing his fights in 2012 then by the start of new year he can start to hit the world top 10 ranked fighters.

As i said i think the guy has a big future
