As for the last one....Adamek is one helluva fighter with the heart of a lion, I'd definitely rate him over Golota P4P.

I agree, p4p yes, but a prime Golota would have destroyed Adamek

we all know Adamek is no heavyweight...... yet, he's the best win on Vitali's resume

I think he stands a chance against any version of Golota, I don't recall Golota defeated anyone remarkable.

The Racket Squad: Lewis Left A Huge Void

Lennox is the smartest Heavyweight since Marciano.
He walked away and never looked back.
He has been as disciplined outside of the ring as he was inside it.
Lewis is rare Champion. The man took the thrill of the division with him when he left.

I agree with some of what you say here but Lennox did retire due to not wanting to fight Vitali again. That's all this thread is about.

He retired for 4 years then came back and won a paper belt and made a bunch of crap defences against ***** opposition.

They are crap opponents today but if they were in Ali and Lennox's day they would have been considered superstars. They just can't get past a Klitschko jab to make a name for themselves. Too bad isn't it.

They are crap opponents today and they'd be considered bums who'd never even get title shots in Ali or Lennox's day

                      Paper belt
According to your definition, every HW champion after Gene Tunney would be a paper champ.

The average journeyman or contender of today is no worse than that of any previous heavyweight era. Only the very very few great fighters to go down in history are currently rare in the heavyweight division, except for 2 dominating brothers of course.
