Try again. Wladimir had a title when Lewis was retiring and ranked 3rd behind Vitali. He wanted no part of a Klitschko. He was basically forced into fighting Vitali by HBO.

P.S. Vitali has a great defense. He just chose to go all offensive against Lewis to make a statement. Of course with Lewis being a savvy veteran and having a crazy reach advantage, he was able to connect on Vitali. It must be noted that Vitali did still land 50% more punches and was winning the fight with that no defense he has according to you. Imagine if he had defense? Wow.
Who has he shown a great defense against?

Yes Unfortunately Lewis was unlike all the other bums Vitali had faced previously. Of course he was able to connect.

The fight only lasted six rounds so 50% isn't that spectacular. But this isn't relevant anyway because the only statement Vitali made was the state of his face after six rounds.

That doesn't speak of a great defense does it?

Vitali quit on his stool against the super middle Wladimir knocked out in 7.

You can't be the best riding the bench. Vitali is active. He held the Ring title and never lost it in the ring, came back after 4 years retirement and beat Peter to a pulp who floored the supposed #1 fighter in Wlad 2 legit times. Vitali is the best hw in the world since the day he unretired and everyone knows it.

                  End of.

Exactly. So when Vitali retired, he lost that.
