I was a fan of Mayweather's since the Amateur days and even up to and past the Corrales fight, Mayweather was soft-spoken. He didn't have anything negative to say about opponents but changed dramatically and simply does not want to be admired. The jail talk he did against Oscar was overboard. He is living in his own world, a genuine headcase.

I say that because Lin is not a rookie and you still got some people here on this site and in the world believing that he is rookie. Lin has been dealing with the NBA off and on for 2 years. So that sort of makes this first 4 starts thing a little more than what it should be. I am not trying to take away from Lin cause the man is for sure doing his thing and deserve some shine for it. No one can argue that at all.

Floyd, lives and breathes for "one" world and that one world embraces him, but a guy a like Lin is being embraced by more than one group, and that's what bothers, Floyd. He wishes he was embraced the same way, and when it didn't happen, he used race as an excuse. It's pathetic.
I agree its a great story but part of what PBF is saying is true from the standpoint that no matter how small it may be Lin being asian is a factor in the attention he is receiving. IMO there is nothing wrong with that.

People who say what Mayweather said is true are missing the point that flew right over their heads. It is not what Mayweather said, it is about the ulterior motive behind what Mayweather said. Mayweather is in a vicious cycle where he wants admiration and is doing everything necessary to make sure that does not happen. He wanted isolation and got it.

Those stories are NOTHING like what Lin represents. Lin is being embraced because expectations were low for him, and he's exceeded those expectations. He is the opposite of a guy walking around in a chinchilla coat and making it rain (we've seen that story already...a million times). You have a guy who's educated and thinks before he speaks, humble, in fact he still sleeps on his brother's couch. Now with respect to what Floyd said, he also made similar statements in regards to Kelly Pavlik, so this isn't an incident relegated to just, Lin. This is about how Floyd, views himself and others like him, and he uses race as a way to explain away those shortcomings, only cowards do that.
Why are so many in here acting like race doesn't play a factor in everything dealing with this country? This country was built on racial controversy so people shouldn't act brand new about it now and act like it doesn't play a factor in media coverage when it does. Its not just about sports it is about all walks of life in this country.

WTF does the red underlined have to do with anything? Expectations are low for kids from the so called "hood" as well so your point is moot on that because when they make it at other things majority of the time it doesn't get this hype and I am speaking in terms regardless of race. Again what does the blue have to do with anything at all? Is it really his brothers couch or is it his teamate Landry Fields couch? Or was it both? The couch thing has been done before so that mean **** all really but its getting played up like it brand new.
