started reading it today. really good. some cool things i've read so far.

before the montreal fight leonard said at a press conference he was going to kill duran. ray arcel told a reporter "if he had said that to roberto in the street, Mr. Leonard would still be stretched out in an alley."...duran knocked out ray's brother roger in the ring after the fight.

after hagler got robbed against antuofermo as he was walking to the locker room, joe louis stopped him and told him he won and not to give up. hagler told him "i'll be back in the gym tomorrow."

leonard and hearns almost fought in 78 in Providence but angelo dundee rejected the fight. leonard would have make 100,000 and hearns 12,500. instead 3 years later leonard made 8 million and hearns 5.1 million.

it's a book by george kimball about leonard, duran, hagler, and hearns. there's a chapter about each of the fights they had with each other.

duran basically never came out in public in panama after the leonard rematch. then when he came back after davey moore he was a hero again. then when he landed in panama after the hearns fight he was thrown in jail.

when duran hit buchannon in the nuts it busted one of his testicles. he still feels it. he saids everytime he pisses he thinks of roberto duran.

hagler beat darnell wigfall twice as a pro but wigfall kicked his ass in a street fight when marvin was 16.

Interesting all 4 fighters once fought on the same TELEVISED boxing card even though it wasn't all in the same place but split

Also darnell wigfall is the reason there ever was a marvin hagler. When Hagler was 16 he was at a party and wigfall picked a fight with hagler and beat him up in front of a bunch of girls. Next day hagler went and joined a boxing gym ended up at the petronelli brothers gym. Well guess what? Wigfall also boxed their. They ended up fighting twice in the pros and hagler won by vicious K.O the 2nd fight

hearns sparred with pernell whitaker for the duran fight. and he broke marlon sterlings jaw in sparring less than 10 days before the leonard fight.

hagler was knocked down in sparring by bobby patterson the week of the mugabi fight.


leonard was rocked in sparring by quincy taylor right before the fight and it made him change his strategy for the fight.


pat petronielli objected to an english judge because of what happened in the minter fight. they wanted a mexican judge. the mexican judge scored it for leonard. the english judge scored the fight from home, had it for hagler.


few months after the fight hagler was calling the hearns/roldan fight. him and leonard crossed paths in a bathroom at a nightclub afterwards. leonard told him "some fight huh?" hagler stared him down and walked away.
