  • Comments Thread For: Delvin Rodriguez Plans To Stay At 154, Seeks Title Fight

The past calendar year has been uncharacteristically kind to Delvin Rodriguez. The hard-luck Dominican entered 2011 having won just two of his previous six bouts.

I wish he would have been given the chance of fighting Canelo instead of old man Mosley.

From what he they said on Friday Night Fights he's going to fight "a little after May 5th" so maybe he's going to fight on June 9, I think against K9.

Seems like a wise career move, 154 is the better division and that is where he has been doing business thus is already established.

I Would Have Loved To See Him Against Canelo, And A Fight With Lara Would Be Interesting...But I Have Him Over K9 No Problem.

How long has it been since K9 had a fight? He needs to stop sitting on that title and give Delvin a shot.

He beat Sechew Powell a bit less than a year ago which was his mandatory.

If we go by recent IBF rankings his next mandatory will be a rematch with Spinks, Delvin would be ranked 5th which oddly enough is the same spot he occupies for all the other alphabets. So if he wants a shot he needs to win a couple fights.

Guys that he needs to win against Vanes, Kirkland, Lara, Wlliams-Ishida winner, a couple Eastern European dudes
