Really? A top welterweight fighting the best Jr. Welterweight is a big deal? He beat two top five Welters in Cotto (catchweight or no) and Clottey. It's been awhile but it's not like there's some murderer's row being ducked at 47.

Because all but the Margarito fight have been title fights at 147?

Henry Armstrong regularly defended against foes from his featherweight and Lightweight days as well as Welters. This two fight a year stuff sucks so it's not an exact comparison but there's no Welter besides Floyd who really is any more a threat than Bradley.

the truth is that 147 is an awkward weight class. So its really hard to stay here.

Also ALL boxers would ideally like to fight at a lower class (comfortably) than they weigh. so they can dominate.
