I don't think moreno is 50/50 either. He boxed Vic's ears off but he's had some super close fights prior to that. Two split decision wins over Nehomar Cermeno, and Volodymyr Sydorenko gave him everything he could handle twice as well.

but I agree that it's a much tougher fight that Mares.

As long as Abner is still with GB, that fights not gonna happen.

The IBF wanted Mares to fight mandatory Vusi Malinga, but none of the American television networks were interested in picking up the contest.

IMO, the D w/ Perez and beating Darch/King Kong x2 is much greater experience wise than Nonito's career. Nonito took Darch 0 and got a good knockdown on an aged Montiel, but that's about it. I don't really count his fights with flyweights at BW as legit fights, more like stay busy.

Jhonny Gonzales beat Montiel too, a more prime version. But no P4P accolades. Sadly, I only think Nonito is in the spotlight because of Manny, Abner is in the spotlight because he belongs there.

lol he beat him in a close fight...also, montiel was not p4p fighter when jhonny beat him , he was when nonito khtfo.

mares only got one clear win vs a decent opponent, his resume is closer to rigo than to donaire's.real talk!

I agree. But, will Arum work with Golden Boy to make Rigo-Mares? And, would GBP be willing to do it?

lol a good knockdown huh? Montiel had a little seizure on the canvas and was clearly stopped legit.

Vic & Montiel were also both pound 4 pound fighters.

Donaire also brutally destroyed Sydorenko, the same guy who gave Moreno everything he handle twice and also Hernan Marquez who became champ after. And of course donaire has won titles in four weight classes.

So yeah, Donaire >>>> Mares (in every way resume & skills).

lol what a dumbass...darchinyan is four years older than montiel so if montiel was old when donaire ko'd him, darchinyan was ancient when mares barely beat him.

you can spin it all you want but ko wins over darchinyan, montiel and sydorenko>>>>>>>>>>>>>>draw with perez and close wins over darch and agbeko.
