Devon Alexander run off opponents

I never scored the Kotelnik fight. Watched it once live and thought the fight could've went either way.

DID re-watch and score the Matthysse fight. And i had it Alexander by a round.

Once again, the fight could've easily went either way. Wouldn't have been dissatisfied with a DRAW or Matthysse win. Far from a robbery though.

I thought Alexander won more definitive rounds than Matthysse. The only dominant rounds for Matthysse in that fight were, 4,7, & 8. While Alexander won, 2, 3, 6 & 9 pretty clearly. Every other round were back & forth toss-up rounds. Far from a robbery.

I dont remember Alexander winning many if any rounds clearly. I was literally gifting him rounds in that fight.

i do respect him for tough opponents, however the fact that he is a big time fighter and makes his opponents fight 10 rounders to his advantage is pathetic and cowardly, not to mention he doenst fight outside of STL usually

You sir, are either absolutely insane or have no idea how to score a fight if you think the Matthysse & Kotelnik fights were clear losses for Alexander. Both fights were close and competitive and could've went either way.

RE-read boxing's scoring criteria and go back and watch both fights without letting message board groupthink cloud your judgement.

Like i said, there's a big difference between winning disputed decisions against washed up fighters then there is against prime opponents at the top of their game. Do you acknowledge the fact that Kotelnik & Matthysse are vastly superior opponents and a level above a washed up Morales & washed up Chop Chop?

And i think you need double check your source(s) vis-a-vis Maidana/Kotelnik.

The comparison with Froch is a no starter Alexander may of had a tough run of opponents but since his real step up in comp he should be 0-3.

Kotelnyk clearly won that fight.

He quit against Bradley in a lackluster encounter (another just reason for criticism)

He lost to Mythysse as well imo.

Don't be fooled by the Maidana fight either 10 rounder in Alexanders home town has home cooking written all over it.

Im comparing his run off opponents anyway i have my own opinion on Frochs results but i wont go into on this thread.Im a big Maidana fan and to be fair he could have rejected the offer but he did not so dont blame Alexanders team for taking any advantage they can get

Maidana is better for Boxing, i hope Devon's run of lucky decision wins comes to end and he gets knocked out or battered from pillar to post knocked down numerous time for a UD.

I dont like the 10 rounds for two Champioship level fighters either but if Marcos was not happy i think he would not have taken it Maidana knows what he has to do.To be fair WM outside of the fight taken place in St Lous it probably would not sell well as thats the only place where Devon could sell out and Marcos would not be that huge enough anywhere in the states to bring in the money like they would in St Louis.I like Devon but once that bell rings ill cheering for that cold blooded killer to rip his head off

Ya he should be 0-3 in his last few fights but he aint and its not like hes trying to protect himself now after those losses hes fighting Maidana

Fair enough he is fighting top guys ppl just get upset with his hometown decisions.
