This "boxing is a business" cliche is played out. Everyone knows this.

But you can't tell us, as consumers, to stop demanding the fights we want to see because the promoters have to make as much money as possible. These guys are getting too attached to their fighters and keep trying to make them something they aren't. If Canelo isn't yet the best fighter at 154, then don't declare him champion because by definition, he should be fighting the guys who've earned their shot by fighting through the competition in that division.

Boxing is a business and as long as they put forth a quality product, provide good fights for the fans, and give us some closure as far as who the best in a division is, there will be money to be made. Unfortunately, the promoters promise all these kids the world and then have to live up to it by over-protecting them -- in turn, we don't ever find out who the best is and we're left arguing in circles about who would beat whom if they were ever left no choice and had to fight each other.

For the PPV's sake of selling familiar names to the casuals, it'll probably be Mosley. If they actually want a good undercard for the boxing fans, they have to go with Delvin. If it is Delvin that would be a big test, and big step up for Canelo. But I believe even if Saul wins, haters will come up with more excuses as to why he's not ready for the big names, and they will create an opponent in Chavez Jr's resume who is "better" than Delvin.

i'd love to see rodriguez get a crack at alvarez, but knowing how boxing works, they'll make mosley cause it makes the most $$$ sense.

Who says business deals are always good for the consumers?? Dude, you live in the USA the core of capitalism, money-making and brainwashing. Trust me, the media will do its job and people will watch whatever fight HBO or whoever puts on. You want fairness?? Stop paying for or watching pro boxing. Boxers earn too much money anyways, making alot more than a doctor which is ridiculous. Or watch amateur boxing.
