Comments Thread For: Malignaggi Responds and Takes Team Senchenko To Task

Former champion Paulie Malignaggi (30-4, 6KOs) is ready, willing and able to fight WBA welterweight king Vyacheslav Senchenko (32-0, 21KOs) at the Donbass-Arena in Ukraine - but the champion's promoter, Union Boxing Promotion, must come up with a satisfactory purse.

Talking about his resume and ***** yet he forgot that he's a washed up former champ who is actually asking for half a million dollars, the same amount he made against Khan. Saying all this ***** that he made money with Cotto and Khan and Hatton, but he's fighting Senschenko for gods sake

They offered him 250K which is somehow low balling even tho 95% of fighters arent making, even the champs who actually matter. Not sure how he even deserves that.

But now it went into a purse bid and after Union won with an offer 4X Golden Boys, Paulies split is now 200K since its 75% for the champ, 20% for the challenger and 5% for the WBA.

Be a man and fight already paulie

Well at the very least its publicity.......

I bet if Paulie agreed to the money, this whole title bout woulda snuck past many of us.

No its not. Nobody in the states will know or even care about this fight unless its on HBO. And even if it was, there no way HBO would come anywhere close to 500K that he wants and most likely they wouldnt even be able to match the 250K that UNion offered

Paulie is confused about where he currently stands in boxing

if te split's 70-30 thats $300k & PM is not a draw over there...he best grab it as w/his hands he doesn't have much time...GBP weak bid showed what they think of PM, & I agree...he doesn't put fans in seats...

The split is now 75-20-5, the 5% going to the WBA, so it's 200K for him now

              False sense of self worth

You must not understand what 250k is in boxing.

Paulie will wnd up with about 150k or less from that.

Morales' 350k vs Cano, he ended up getting 80k after all expenses and everyone that got paid.

So you gotta do the math, what's 250k when you probably end up giving up more than 100k? Thought you would know this.

It's a strange world when Paulie can demand half a million to fight in a non-US televised bout and people take it seriously.

You may be right about nobody caring, but at least people know the fight may (or may not) be happening. I for one would not have known unless I saw boxingscene's headlines.
